The Attorney General has released his official title and summary of the Save Prop 13 initiative. This version will appear on signature circulation forms that are being prepared by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association. The signature forms may be ready to email next week (9/2/2025) for printing on home printers and signature gathering. 874,641 valid signatures will be required to get this initiative on the ballot. As is often the case, the AG has written a very partisan and negative statement of what Save Prop 13 will do. This issue is about restoring the 2/3’s vote for property tax increases.
Please do your own due diligence, and if you would like to circulate the petition for signatures, go to www.hjta.org/saveprop13 and sign-up to receive the official petition. You will be able to print it on your personal computer printer (8.5 x 11 inch paper). This version will have only two signature spaces. But you will be able to order and receive, via mail, the longer version with more signature spaces.
We have until January 12, 2026 to submit the necessary signatures.
